I Will Be There For You.

Helping Clients Navigate The Road To Divorce

When you get married, you never think there will be a time when you’ll contemplate separating. The divorce process isn’t always clear-cut, and it can be hard to know how to proceed. That is where I step in. I am Jana Landry, founder of Jana Landry Attorney at Law. I have worked with clients throughout Texas since 1999. My goal is to protect your future and help you move on.

What You Need To Know

In order to file for divorce, there are residency requirements you must meet. In Texas, you have to have lived here for six months, plus 90 days in the country where the divorce is being filed. Furthermore, there are seven grounds for divorce that you must choose from. They include insupportability, living apart, confinement in a mental hospital, cruelty, abandonment, conviction of a felony and adultery. I can discuss these with you and determine which one fits your situation.

Another part of divorce is deciding whether or not alimony is possible. If one partner is unable to earn enough income, it may be required. As time goes on, this can be amended. Child support is another possibility. The goal is to make sure they are properly taken care of, both physically and financially. There are a number of things that are taken into consideration, and I will do everything I can to reach a favorable result. My job is to answer your questions and help you understand your options.
